Ilot 13
The project is located at Îlot 13, an iconic site mythic location in Geneva’s squatting scene. The new timber structure serves as both an exterior staircase and a balcony, providing independent access and outdoor space to one of the houses in the inner courtyard. A construction approach that allows for easy assembly and disassembly echoes the spirit of transformation that the site has long welcomed. This results in a deliberately fragile appearance and precise misalignments in its details, expressing unexpected interactions between the cladding and the structure.
