Ilot 13
The project is located at Ilot 13, an iconic site in Geneva’s squat scene. The new wooden structure, which provides independent access and an outdoor space to one of the houses in the inner courtyard, is designed with a construction approach that allows for easy assembly and disassembly, echoing the spirit of transformation that the site has long welcomed. This approach facilitates the reuse of elements once the structure’s first life cycle has ended. The result is a deliberately fragile appearance, reminiscent of ephemeral architecture, with precise misalignments in the details that express unexpected interactions between the cladding and the structure.
